Accessibility Statement

Effective date: September 11, 2026  ·  Last updated: September 11, 2026

Health information should be readable by everyone who needs it. DFW Weight Loss Guide is committed to making this site usable for all readers, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, or other assistive technology.

Our standard

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines are the widely accepted standard for making web content perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust.

What we’ve done

  • Text and background colors chosen to meet contrast requirements
  • A single, logical heading structure on every page so screen readers can navigate by section
  • Full keyboard navigation — no feature requires a mouse
  • Descriptive link text instead of “click here,” so links make sense out of context
  • Text that reflows and remains readable when enlarged or viewed on a small screen
  • Descriptive alternative text on meaningful images
  • Comparison tables built as real data tables with proper headers, not as images
  • Form fields with visible, associated labels
  • No auto-playing audio or video, and no flashing content

Known limitations

We build and review this site continuously, and some areas may not yet fully meet our target — particularly content delivered through third-party tools we don’t control, such as embedded forms, and any downloadable PDF documents, which may not be fully tagged for screen readers. If you need information from a PDF in a different format, ask us and we will provide it.

Tell us about a barrier

If you encounter anything on this site you can’t access, please tell us through our contact form. Include the page address and a short description of the problem. We treat accessibility reports as priority fixes and will respond with a plan or a workaround — and if you need information from a page you can’t use, we’ll send it to you in an accessible format in the meantime.

Ongoing work

Accessibility isn’t a one-time project. We review new content as it’s published and re-check the site periodically. This statement is updated as our practices change — the date at the top reflects the most recent review.

A note about medical content

Accessible format does not change the nature of what’s published here. Everything on this site is general educational information, not medical advice — see our Terms of Use. Please talk to your own clinician about your health.
